And Jesus looked upon him, and loved him, and said unto him, One thing is lacking unto thee. Go and sell all that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, follow me, and take up the cross.
Mark 10:21 (GNV Translation Ed. 1599)
Good morning in the name of Jesus
Friends, are you willing to part with and forsake the idols that we are consumed with following? This is not to suggest that we forgo the needed items for our daily sustenance, for as written our heavenly Fathers knows our needs and has provided ways and means to attain them for ourselves and families. However, are you willing to give yourself over fully to Christ, in holy service in order to fulfill the great commission, that is to make disciples of all people. The harvest is large but the workers are few.
Know now beforehand too, that during these times, friends and family may forsake and abandon you, this should be no surprise. You will face trails and divers of tribulations (for the Devil is constantly on the prowl, as in written by Peter, like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour). But likewise know that your God is for you, as we read yesterday, and as the Psalmist wrote;
“I will rejoice in God, because of his word, I trust in God, and will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”
Yet if we remain steadfast and follow the course, we will receive the prize. Now do not misunderstand here, that this is a Gospel of Works, for it is not so, it is however a calling to those who would serve our Creator. Seek Him, daily, and all good things will be unto you.
Friends for those of you that have not accepted God’s plan of redemption, it is urged that you do so, this offer expires upon the return of Christ, and no one person knows when that time is coming. It could happen the very second after you read this post. Pray with me friends:
Father, I come before you to confess my sins, and to accept your grace and mercy, by acknowledging the sacrifice of your Son Jesus Christ as an atonement for my sins. Amen
