Proverbs 11:10-12, 14

Editor’s note - I am incorporating a new feature today. I use the Geneva Bible Translation but some people have trouble reading this format, as well as the King James version. I myself at times during passages I find difficult have used other translations. One is the Young’s Literal Translation and the other is the American Standard Version. My link to the additional scripture page is from the Oremus Bible Browser, that uses the New Revised Standard Version, which is also very good. Starting today (actually yesterday was a test run), I will be adding the daily reading to the links page, so that the reader that has difficulty with the Geneva version can use a more updated version.

10 In the prosperity of the righteous the city
rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is joy.
11 By the blessing of the righteous the city is
exalted: but it is subverted by the mouth of the
wicked.
12 He that despiseth his neighbor, is destitute of wisdom:
but a man of understanding will keep silence. (a)
14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but where
many counselors are, there is health.

The Backlash against Amnesty Continues

Just read on Facebook that TX is now considering a bill similar to the one passed by AZ. I beleive it was proposed a couple of years ago, but didn't pass committee, I think this time around might be a differrent tune.

Proverbs 11:3-6

3 The uprightness of the just shall guide them:
but the frowardness of the transgressors shall
destroy them.
4 Riches avail not in the day of wrath: but
righteousness delivereth from death.
5 The righteousness of the upright shall direct his
way: but the wicked shall fall in his own wickedness.
6 The righteousness of the just shall deliver
them: but the transgressors shall be taken in their
own wickedness.

Blueprint for Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13

A departure from the daily meditation today dear reader. I found myself thinking on this early this morning, and have need to share this with you.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye, Our
father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done even in
earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive
our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us
from evil: for thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory for ever. Amen.

The Lord’s prayer, beautiful, succinct and to the point. It is probably the one of the best known of not only to millions of Christians that recite it daily, but also to non-believers as well. However it is more than that, it is a blueprint, a guide as to how one should pray. Allow me, a layperson at best, to share what it brings to me.

Verse 9
First we are instructed to give acknowledgement to our Creator, our Father, and to praise his name by recognizing that it is hallowed or holy. It speaks of His righteousness and His authority because He is our Creator, our Father.
Psalm 8:1, 9

Verse 10
His kingdom is all the universe, it includes and is not limited to the heavens and the earth. It is His alone to bring about and at a time of His choosing. His will, will be done, not only in the realm of heaven, but in realm of the earth as well.
Psalm 47:, Psalm 136:26

Verse 11
The Father knows of our needs and he will supply us both for our bodies AND our spirits, feeding us daily with the bread of life. Ask him, and he shall give liberally the blessings of heaven upon us.
Luke 12:24, Matthew 4:4, John 6:33, 35, 48, 51

Verse 12
Forgiveness is a cornerstone of God’s righteousness, and His being, for without His Grace, we would still be dead in sin. As such we are instructed to be as He is, forgiving. Do this and we will likewise be forgiven as well
Mark 11:25-26, Psalm 86:5, 1John 1:9

Verse 13
While the Lord will not tempt us, he allows temptation to be brought to bear against us, and yet he delivers us from them all and provides an escape from them. Ask Him and he will come in due season. Seek his deliverance in all things.
Deuteronomy 31:6-8, 1 Samuel 12:22, Job 1:1-12, John 14:18, John 15:7 1 Peter 5:8, James 1:5

Finally, as we leave the presence of our Heavenly Father, we again, acknowledge His sovereignty over all of HIS creation. Thank Him

Proverbs 10:18-21

18 He that dissembleth hatred with lying lips, and
he that inventeth slander, is a fool.
19 In many words there cannot want iniquity: but
he that refraineth his lips, is wise:
20 The tongue of the just man is as fined silver:
but the heart of the wicked is little worth.
21 The lips of the righteous do feed many: but
fools shall die for want of wisdom.

Proverbs 8:11-12, 17-18, 21, 32-36

Editor’s note - The Geneva Bible combines verses 33&34 into one verse that is why the reader will only find verses 32-35.

11 For wisdom is better than precious stones: and
all pleasures are not to be compared unto her.
12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and I find forth
knowledge and counsels
17 I love them that love me: and they that seek
me early shall find me.
18 Riches and honor are with me: even durable
riches and righteousness.
21 That I may cause them that love me, to inherit
substance, and I will fill their treasures
32 Therefore now hearken, O children, unto me:
for blessed are they that keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction, and be ye wise, and refuse it
not: blessed is the man that heareth me, watching
daily at my gates, and giving attendance at the posts
of my doors.
34 For he that findeth me, findeth life, and shall
obtain favor of the Lord.
35 But he that sinneth against me, hurteth his
own soul: and all that hate me, love death.

the way in the place of the paths.

O fools, be wise in heart.

Proverbs 6:6-11

6 Go to the pismire, O sluggard: behold her
ways, and be wise.
7 For she having no guide, governor, nor ruler,
8 Prepareth her meat in the summer, and gathereth

9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when

Editor’s note - Upon searching for the word “pismire” in Strong’s Concordance I could not locate it. In the KJV, the word “ant” is used. I did however have some success using Webster’s Dictionary edition1828, which defines the word as follows;

Pismire - The insect called the ant or emmet.

He is Risen

1 Now the first day of the week early in the
morning, they came unto the sepulcher, and brought
the odors which they had prepared, and certain
women with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the
sepulcher,
3 And went in, but found not the body of the
Lord Jesus.
4 And it came to pass, that as they were amazed
thereat, behold, two men suddenly stood by them
in shining vestures.
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their
faces to the earth, they said to them, Why seek ye
him that liveth, among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he
spake unto you, when he was yet in Galilee,
7 Saying, that the Son of man must be delivered
into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and
the third day rise again.
8 And they remembered his words,
