My Daily Meditation

Today’s Reading
The Epistle to the Hebrews
Chapter 11:13-16

The Heavenly Hope

13 All these died in faith, and received not the promises, but saw them afar off, and believed them, and received them thankfully, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14 For they that say such things, declare plainly, that they seek a country.
15 And if they had been mindful of that country, from whence they came out, they had leisure to have returned.
16 But now they desire a better, that is an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed of them to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

There is much to understand in the above verses. Suffice to say that those who confess Christ as Savior, confess that they themselves are not ashamed of His Gospel. Additionally they realize that they are only sojourners on this temporal plain of existence, and while they sojourn their goal is to reach the promise that God has given to all that seek Him avidly, that is to say to reach the eternal kingdom that God has created for us. Wherein He will welcome each of us with “Well done oh faithful servant, enter into thy rest.”

The time grows shorter friends, confess your sins, and accept Christ as your Savior, and atonement.
