My Daily Meditation
Today’s Reading
The Epistle to the Hebrews
Chapter 11:1-3

By Faith We Understand

1 Now faith is the grounds of things which are hoped for, and the evidence of things which are not seen. (a)
2 For by it our elders were well reported of. (b)
3 Through faith we understand that the world was ordained by the word of God, so that the things which we see, are not made of things which did appear. (c)

(a) Editor's thought - Faith is the belief in things that we cannot see, but we know to exist because of the Holy Spirit that lives and speaks within us.
(b) Editor’s thought - God’s word is a true and testifying witness of the things that are unseen by the human eye. Without our faith in His Word we cannot please Him.
(c) Editor’s notation - Re: vs 3 - The NKJV uses the word framed in the place of ordained. Both sum up the fact that our Creator has made all things by design.
Framed - Fitted and united in due form; made; composed; devised
Ordained -Appointed; instituted; established; settled
