Word
of God
But
he answering, said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread only,
but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Concerning
the works of men, by the words of thy lips I kept me from the paths
of the cruel man.
Brethren:
Friends;
how often do we wish to avenge ourselves against others, or perhaps
at best wish them ill? Yet God’s words speak to us of peace, and
forgiveness, and as such we should endeavor at all times to be at
peace with all men (Read Romans 12:18). Seek to forgive often and as
needed for did not our Savior even forgive those that nailed Him to
the cross? (Read Matthew 18:22: Luke 23:24) Henceforth, let us
follow in the ways of our Savior and emulate Him to the best of our
ability.

“During
those years of exile, God had proved David’s heart, visited and
examined him, and tested him the way gold and silver are tested and
refined in the crucible “tested by fire”. No matter what Saul
and his men had said about him, David was able to affirm to the Lord
that he had not spoken evil of the king. In fact, on at least two
occasions, David could have slain Saul, but he refused to lay hands
on God’s chosen and anointed leader (Read 1 Samuel 24; 26). Saul
would have killed David, but David obeyed the Word of the Lord and
kept himself from violence. Though he was a fugitive in the
wilderness, David walked on the paths of the Lord and obeyed God’s
law.”
