Word
of God
But
he answering, said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread only,
but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
The
Gospel According to Matthew 4:4
Psalm
16:8
Prefaced
& Edited by Doktor Riktor Von Zhades
I
have set the Lord always before me: for he is at my right hand:
therefore I shall not slide.
Brethren:
The
ways of the Lord your God, are the ways of righteousness, mercy and
grace. They are an elixir so to speak that strengthens us in trials,
comforts us in grief, renews our faith, and gives us joy. (Read Psalm
18:21; Isaiah 2:3) They are a straight path upon which we would be
wise to tred upon, turning neither to the left or to the right (Read
Deuteronomy 28:14; Joshua 1:7; Proverbs 4:27), but continuing forward
towards the goal.
Henceforth
friends, let us seek to do good that are right in the eyes of God and
choose not the carnal ways of the world. Seek the praise of God by
doing good, and men will likewise praise you. You are under the eyes
of the world, they seek any opening to accuse you and by extension
our Creator.
Remain
therefore steadfast in all that you have learned, and continue in
them for He will not fail you. Remember He is faithful to all that
call upon His name and likewise He is not slack in His promises.
(Read 1 Corinthians 1:8-10; 1 Thessalonians 5:25; 2 Thessalonians
3:2-3; 2 Timothy 2:13; 2 Peter 3:9; Isaiah 59:1)
Finally,
hold fast to your confession of Him as Savior and redeemer so that
come the Day of Judgment you will be found blameless. (Read 1
Corinthians 15:1-3; Philippians 2:16; Hebrews 3:6, 4:14, 10:23;
Revelation 225-26) - Doktor Riktor Von Zhades - Disciple of Christ
“Not
his fear only, or the book of the law, as Jarchi interprets it, but
the Lord himself; or, "I foresaw the Lord always before my
face", ( Read Acts 2:26 ) ; as Christ is set before men in the
Gospel, to look unto as the object of faith and hope, to trust in and
depend upon for life and salvation; so Jehovah the Father is the
object which Christ set before him, and looked unto in the whole
course of his life here on earth; he had always an eye to his glory,
as the ultimate end of all his actions; and to his will, his orders,
and commands, as the rule of them; and to his purposes, and counsel,
and covenant, to accomplish them; and to his power, truth, and
faithfulness, to assist, support, and encourage him in all his
difficulties and most distressed circumstances; to counsel and
instruct, to help, protect, and defend. The phrase is expressive of
the nearness of God to Christ, his presence with him, and readiness
to assist and stand by him against all his enemies.
[As
such] he was not [moved] from his place and nation, from the duty of
his office, and the execution of it, by all the threats and menaces
of men; nor from the fear, worship, and service of God, by all the
temptations of Satan; nor from the cause of his people he had
espoused, by all the terrors of death, the flaming sword of justice,
and the wrath of God; but, in the midst and view of all, stood
unshaken and unmoved. (Read Isaiah 42:4, 50:5-9 ) - John Gill 17th
Century Theologian
