Word of God
But he answering, said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
The Gospel According to Matthew 4:4

Psalm 17:6
Prefaced & Edited by Doktor Riktor Von Zhades

I have called upon thee: surely thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear to me, and hearken unto my words.

Brethren:

If there is one thing that our Creator does without fail is to hear prayer. As to how He answers them is a different matter entirely. But hear them He does.

In 1969, the rock group “The Doors” wrote a song entitled “Soft Parade”. The opening lyrics were as follows with Jim Morrison imitating a fire and brimstone type preacher
When I was back there in seminary school
There was a person there
Who put forth the proposition
That you can petition the Lord with prayer
Petition the lord with prayer
Petition the lord with prayer
You cannot petition the lord with prayer!

Sadly, for him, this is not so. In various translations of the Bible we find that the word petition shows up in many instances. In particular in the O.T. we find it many times.*

So for God to not hear prayer, or our supplication, our petitions is a rather wrongheaded concept put forth by someone who probably knew nothing of God at all, but thought it would be novel to be someone he never would, or never could be.
Dr. Riktor Von Zhades - Servant of Christ.

This had been the constant practice of the psalmist, and he still continued in it. [For] God is a God hearing prayer; he is used to hear his people, and they have frequent experience of it, and they may be assured that whatsoever they ask according to his will, and in the name of Christ, he will hear; and such an assurance is a reason engaging the saints to a constant calling upon God, (Read Psalms 116:2 ), and such confidence of being always heard Christ had, ( Read John 11:41 John 11:42 ). [David’s] prayer, which he now directed to him in full assurance of being heard.
