Afternoon Reflection The Book of Psalms 3:3-4

3 But thou Lord art a buckler  for me, my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. 4 I did call unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy mountain. Selah. (a)

When we call upon our redeemer in times of trouble He hears and He answers. In the late 1960‘s there was a song by the band called “The Doors” titled “The Soft Parade” One of the opening lines went like this:
“You cannot petition the Lord with prayer!”
But what our prayers but requests, petitions to our heavenly Father. We find the word used in the 1 Book of Samuel 1:17, 27, The book of Psalms 20:5, and (as cited below) 1 John 5:15

(a) Read Isaiah 59:16-18; 1 John 5:15
