Chapter 9:1-5

The Earthly Sanctuary(a)
1 Then the first Testament had also ordinances of religion, and a worldly Sanctuary,
2 For the first Tabernacle was made, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the showbread, which Tabernacle is called the Holy places.
3 And after the second veil was the Tabernacle, which is called the Holiest of all,
4 Which had the golden censer, and the Ark of the Testament overlaid round about with gold, wherein the golden pot, which had Manna, was, and Aaron’s rod that had budded, and the tables of the Testament.
5 And over the Ark were the glorious Cherubims, shadowing the mercy seat: of which things we will not now speak particularly
(a) Editor’s notation - Re: heading - Read Hebrews 8:5. As noted, the scripture states that the earthly sanctuary was a shadow, a copy of the one that is awaiting us.
