Word of God

Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God
Matthew 4:4

This Present Age

The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to Titus 2:11-12

11 For that grace of God, that bringeth salvation unto all men, hath appeared, 12 And teacheth us, that we should deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and that we should live soberly and righteously, and godly in this present world.

Brethren:

First it must needs be that in today’s study we must recall the fact that God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Hence, His word remains the same eternally. Scripture tells us that there is nothing new under the sun, all is vanity. What was made known and true centuries ago is still made known and true today, or as is written above “this present age. Therefore let us focus on these three words.

The fact is, that today, as was true in the time during which Paul wrote those words, man still follows carnal and worldly lusts. His nature is no better now, than it was over two thousand years ago. However, there exists one thing, that makes us different; this is to say we now have Christ as Redeemer and Savior. We have an advocate to the Father, who will speak on our behalf, for His righteousness has now been imputed unto us.

Therefore it behooves us to act and behave in the manner as prescribed by God’s word, and by His definitions of what entails righteousness. Let us proceed to walk circumspectly knowing that the time is short. Let He that redeemed us from sin, and the curse of sin, death, find us ready and as spotless as may be so. For no one knows the time of His return except for the Father.
