16 Know ye not, that to whomsoever ye give
yourselves as servants to obey, his servants ye are to
whom ye obey, whether it be of sin unto death, or
of obedience unto righteousness? (a)
17 But God be thanked, that ye have been the
servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart
unto the form of the doctrine, whereunto ye were
delivered.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye are made the
servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of man, because of
the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have given your
members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity, to
commit iniquity, so now give your members servants
unto righteousness in holiness.
(a) Editor’s thought - You are who you choose to serve. This is to say that God has given you a free will to either serve and seek the praise of mankind, or to seek out and serve those things of which our Heavenly Father would have us do.
