The
Gospel According to Mark
Chapter
2:13-17
14
And as Jesus passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sit at the
receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and
followed him.
15
And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at table in his house, many
Publicans and sinners sat at table also with Jesus, and his
disciples: for there were many that followed him.
16
And when the Scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with the Publicans and
sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it, that he eateth and
drinketh with Publicans and sinners?
17
Now when Jesus heard it, he said unto them, The whole have no need of
the Physician, but the sick.I came not to call the righteous, but the
sinners to repentance.
Brethren:
The Gospel of repentance offends those that reject Christ. It is they, that wallow in the mire of self-righteousness, that find fault with all that believers do and say.
