Psalm One Hundred Thirty One

1 Lord, mine heart is not haughty, neither are mine eyes lofty, neither have I walked in great matters and hid from me.

2 Surely I have behaved myself, like one weaned from his mother, and kept silence: I am in myself as one that is weaned.(a)

3 Let Israel wait on the Lord from henceforth and forever.

My Daily Meditation

My friends, brethren in Christ:

A while back I had commented on a dream I had, had, and about the piece of paper that I was instructed to fold into four. I spoke on what was revealed on one piece, about how we should seek and humble ourselves before God first and foremost each day. This morning in my readings another piece was revealed to me. On that piece was written to care for the lesser and unfortunate among us by the words, mercy, compassion, and righteousness which were written there in the second fold. Both of these instructions are the two primary commands of our Creator. This is to say, to seek, love and worship Him, and then to love and  seek to help others who are lost, hurt, or in just plain need of assistance.  Friends, people wonder, what God is about, and I tell you, He is about what I have just written. He is about love, mercy, and compassion. He is about righteousness, but don’t be fooled, by your own self righteousness. Doing good is wonderful, but you don’t work your way into heaven, so be careful not to allow self piety, rule your actions. Let your actions be ruled by what God wants of us. Let His righteousness be your guide, and the light on your path through this temporal plain. 

5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen, that a man should afflict his soul for a day, and to bow down his head, as a bull rush, and to lie down in sackcloth and ashes? wilt thou call this a fasting, or an acceptable day to the Lord? (a)

6 Is not this the fasting that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to take off the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that wander, unto thine house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him, and hide not thyself from thine own flesh? (b)

8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall grow speedily: thy righteousness shall go before thee, and the glory of the Lord shall embrace thee.

9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer: thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am: if thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and wicked speaking:

10 If thou pour out thy soul to the hungry, and refresh the troubled soul: then shall thy light spring out in the darkness, and thy darkness shall be as the noon day. (c)

11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones, and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. (d)

Psalm One Hundred Thirty

1 Out of the deep places have I called unto thee, O Lord.

2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears attend to the voice of my prayers.

3 If thou, O Lord, straightly markest iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

4 But mercy is with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

5 I have waited on the Lord: my soul hath waited, and I have trusted in his word.

6 My soul waiteth on the Lord more than the morning watch watcheth for the morning.

7 Let Israel wait on the Lord: for with the Lord is mercy, and with him is great redemption.

8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities

My Daily Meditation

Friends, when we cloth ourselves in sin, we in essence hide away ourselves from God for He cannot look upon us.  But do not mistake this for God not KNOWING, that we’re in sin. What I am trying to so feebly state is simply, God see us, but He cannot acknowledge us, thus he turns His face away from us. But be of good cheer friends for God has sent His Son, Jesus to heal us. When we look to Him as Savior, it is then that God returns and begins the healing process.  As the scripture says when we confess our sins He is faithful to forgive us.  

15 For thus saith he that is high and excellent, he that inhabiteth the eternity, whose Name is the Holy one, I dwell in the high and holy place: with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit to revive the spirit of the humble, and to give life to them that are of a contrite heart.

16 For I will not contend forever: neither will I be always wroth, for the spirit should fail before me: and I have made the breath. (a)

17 For his wicked covetousness I am angry with him, and have smitten him: I hid me, and was angry, yet he went away, and turned after the way of his own heart. (b)

18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comfort unto him, and to those that lament him.

19 I create the fruit of the lips, to be peace: peace unto them that are far off, and to them that are near, saith the Lord: for I will heal him.

Psalm One Hundred Twenty Nine

1 They have oftentimes afflicted me from my youth (may Israel now say)

2 They have oftentimes afflicted me from my youth: but they could not prevail against me.

3 The plowers plowed upon my back, and made long furrows.

4 But the righteous Lord hath cut the cords of the wicked.

5 They that hate Zion, shall be all ashamed and turned backward.

6 They shall be as the grass on the house tops, which withereth afore it cometh forth.

7 Whereof the mower filleth not his hand, neither the gleaner his lap:

8 Neither they which go by, say, The blessing of the Lord be upon you, or, We bless you in the Name of the Lord.

My Daily Meditation

My friends, God, wants all his children to be redeemed to Him. Salvation is not just for Israel, but for all people. He sent His Son into the world to be the sacrificial lamb and an atonement for our sins. This is to say, Jesus paid it all, once and FOR ALL people. Come to Him in meekness and humble yourselves before Him.  Seek His forgiveness, and you will be forgiven. Confess your sins, and you will be washed clean in the blood of the Lamb. Drink of the living water, and eat from the table of the Word of God. 

1 Thus saith the Lord, Keep judgment and do justice, for my salvation is at hand to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.

2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man which layeth hold on it; he that keepeth the Sabbath, and polluteth it not, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

3 And let not the son of the strangers, which is joined to the Lord, speak and say, The Lord hath surely separated me from his people; neither let the Eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.

4 For thus saith the Lord unto the Eunuchs that keep my Sabbaths, and choose the thing that pleaseth me, and take hold of my covenant,

5 Even unto them will I give in mine House and within my walls, a place, and a name better than of the sons and of the daughters; I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be put out.

The Book of Isaiah Chapter 56:1-7

11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I desire not the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn you, turn you from your evil ways, for why will ye die, O ye house of Israel?

12 Therefore thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression, nor the wickedness of the wicked shall cause him to fall therein, in the day that he returneth from his wickedness, neither shall the righteous live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

13 When I shall say unto the righteous, that he shall surely live, if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousness shall be no more remembered, but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for the same.

14 Again when I shall say unto the wicked, Thou shalt die the death, if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right,

15 To wit, if the wicked restore the pledge, and give again that he had robbed, and walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity, he shall surely live, and not die.

16 None of his sins that he hath committed, shall be mentioned unto him: because he hath done that, which is lawful and right, he shall surely live.

The Book of Ezekiel Chapter 33:11-16

16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the [c]power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Grecian.

17 For by it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Psalm One Hundred Twenty Eight

1 Blessed is everyone that feareth the Lord, and walketh in his ways. (a)

2 When thou eatest the labors of thine hands, thou shalt be blessed, and it shall be well with thee.

3 Thy wife shall be as the fruitful vine on the sides of thine house, and thy children like the olive plants round about thy table.

4 Lo, surely thus shall the man be blessed, that feareth the Lord.

5 The Lord out of Zion shall bless thee, and thou shalt see the wealth of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

6 Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel.

(a) Editor’s thought - As noted in the opening statement of today’s study, the key here is the word “everyone”. God will meet you where you are today. His mercy does not change, nor is He as a man who might change his mind one way, and a different way the next day. As the scripture says He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Ergo, His mercy, and His grace shall be available to all until such time as He returns to claim His own.

Psalm One Hundred Twenty Seven

1 Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the keeper watcheth in vain.

2 It is in vain for you to rise early, and to lie down late, and eat the bread of sorrow: but he will surely give rest to his beloved.

3 Behold, children are the inheritance of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb his reward.

4 As are the arrows in the hand of the strong man; so are the children of youth.

5 Blessed is the man that hath his quiver full of them: for they shall not be ashamed, when they speak with their enemies in the gate.

My Daily Meditation

3 Incline your ears, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live, and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found: call ye upon him while he is near. (a)

7 Let the wicked forsake his ways, and the unrighteous his own imaginations, and return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he is very ready to forgive.

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts above your thoughts (b)

11 So shall my word be, that goeth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I will, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (c)

The Book of Isaiah Chapter 55:3, 6-9, 11

(a) Editor’s thought - The best way I know to seek him is by studying His word daily, and by the fellowship of the believers. 

(b) Editor’s thought - Indeed, what are the ways of the Lord? His ways are of mercy, righteousness, compassion, forgiveness. We as mere mortals, strive to emulate our heavenly Father, but we fall short. Yet He never fails to maintain His own ways. 

(c) Editor’s thought - I have always maintained that God’s Word, has the power to fulfill Itself. This is to say, that He speaks, and it is done.

Psalm One Hundred Twenty Six

1 When the Lord brought again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with joy: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. (a)

3 The Lord hath done great things for us, whereof we rejoice.

4 O Lord, bring again our captivity, as the rivers in the South.

5 They that sow in tears, shall reap in joy.

6 They went weeping, and carried precious seed: but they shall return with joy, and bring their sheaves.

(a) Editor’s thought - Let the non-believer see you filled with joy as you go about you life. 

My Daily Meditation

4 Fear not: for thou shalt not be ashamed, neither shalt thou be confounded: for thou shalt not be put to shame: yea, thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood anymore.

5 For he that made thee, is thine husband, (whose name is the Lord of hosts) and thy redeemer the holy One of Israel, shall be called the God of the whole world.

6 For the Lord hath called thee, being as a woman forsaken, and afflicted in spirit, and as a young wife when thou wast refused, saith thy God.

7 For a little while have I forsaken thee, but with great compassion will I gather thee.

8 For a moment in mine anger, I hid my face from thee for a little season, but with everlasting mercy have I had compassion on thee, saith the Lord thy redeemer

13 And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord, and much peace shall be to thy children.

14 In righteousness shalt thou be established, and be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear it: and from fear; for it shall not come near thee.

15 Behold, the enemies shall gather himself, but without me: whosoever shall gather himself in thee, against thee, shall fall.

1 They that trust in the Lord, shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but remaineth forever.

2 As the mountains are about Jerusalem: so is the Lord about his people from henceforth and forever.

3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest on the lot of the righteous, lest the righteous put forth their hand unto wickedness.

4 Do well, O Lord, unto those that be good and true in their hearts.

5 But these that turn aside by their crooked ways, them shall the Lord lead with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.
