My Daily Meditation
The Hill

My friends, there is only one place you can go to seek forgiveness of your sins. It is a hill. It’s not Bunker Hill. It’s not San Juan Hill. It’s not Capitol Hill. No my friends it is only on the Hill at Calvary, where one can lay their sins at the cross of Jesus.

9 If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just, to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness
The First Epistle of John Chapter 1:9

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in assurance of faith, our hearts being pure from an evil conscience,
23 And washed in our bodies with pure water, let us keep the profession of our hope, without wavering, (for he is faithful that promised.)
The Epistle to the Hebrews Chapter 10:22-24

24 Faithful is he which calleth you, which will also do it.
The First Epistle to the Thessalonians Chapter 5:24

Read One Psalm a Day
Psalm One Hundred Fourteen

1 When Israel went out of Egypt, and the house
of Jacob from the barbarous people,
2 Judah was his sanctification, and Israel his
dominion.
3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was turned back.
4 The mountains leaped like rams, and the hills
as lambs!
5 What ailed thee, O sea, that thou fleddest? O
Jordan, why wast thou turned back?
6 Ye mountains why leaped ye like rams, and ye
hills as lambs?
7 The earth trembled at the presence of the
Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 Which turneth the rock into waterpools, and
the flint into a fountain of water.

My Daily Meditation
You Can’t, But Jesus Can

My friends, there is a hymn by Robert Lowry that contains the following lyrics:

What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

How many times has anyone of us seen a man on the street type interview, with a question phrased in such a way as to ask “what does it take to get to heaven?” or “do you think you’ll go to heaven?” To often, and much to my disappointment I hear people answer in such a way that implies that all they have to do is be a good person. Follow the golden rule, be kind, generous, compassionate. I don’t doubt that such a person is also very sincere in that belief, and it is commendable to practice those moral precepts. But my friends you have to know, that quite frankly it means diddly-squat!  God’s word clearly states that all our best attempts at righteousness fall way short. As the Psalmist David stated, there is none that does good, not one.  If you happened to read the post I made yesterday, ( from Ray Pritchard), there is only ONE way to get to heaven. You must, and I emphasis the word MUST,accept the grace that is freely given to you by God our Father. And, the only way to accept that is by stating that you accept the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ.  There is no other way.

Now some of you may say to yourselves or to others that you’ve heard or personally believe that God is Love, or He is a loving God, and surely He would not condemn His children to suffer eternal separation from Himself.  Friends, this only partly true. Yes He is a God of love and compassion, and yes He has no wish to be apart from you,  but He is likewise, and more importantly a God of righteousness. He cannot look upon sin period, and friends, we are sinners. There is no way around this fact, we are sinners.

Jesus said that He is the way, and all that come to the Father must go through Him. He is the door, the portal, the gateway to spending eternity with God.  Only God, through Christ can wash away your sins. Does this give us license then to continue in it? Certainly not, but on the times when we slip, and fall, know this, and know it well my friends, you’re covered by His precious blood,  you have an advocate that speaks on your behalf.

So today, I invite those who have yet to do so, accept God’s grace. It is freely given to any and all that want it. It doesn’t matter who you are, or what your station in life is at this point in time. As is written in the Book Deuteronomy; choose life, my friends. Will you accept this choice today?  All it takes is to confess with one’s mouth, that you are a sinner, and that you want to get right with God, by acknowledging, the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ on your behalf;

Heavenly Father, I confess that I am a sinner, that I have fallen short of your vision of righteousness. I ask that you come into my heart, and I accept the sacrifice that your Son made for me, that he died for my sins.  I ask to be washed by His blood, and be made whole and made clean. Amen

I would add here my friends, that once you’ve made  this confession,  that the next thing to do is find and attend a church, and begin to fellowship with other believers. This is very important for you need to be fed continually in order to grow in your walk with Him. While we each have a personal relationship with Him, it is necessary for each of us to be strengthened by those that have walked before us.

Secondly start to read and more importantly study the Bible. Your walk, that has just begun, is a continual journey on this temporal plain.  If I might suggest a starting place, the Book of Hebrews is a good place to start, along with the Gospel According to John. Additionally, there are many, many sites online that have daily devotionals, wherein one can read through the Bible in a year.

May God richly bless you.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live
The Book of Deuteronomy Chapter 30:19

18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins were as crimson, they shall be made white as snow: though they were red like scarlet, they shall be as wool
The Book of Isaiah Chapter 1:18

Thus saith the Lord thy redeemer, the Holy one of Israel, I am the Lord thy God, which teach thee to profit, and lead thee by the way that thou shouldest go
The Book of Isaiah Chapter 48:17

14 Jesus said unto him, I am that Way, and that Truth, and that Life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by me
The Gospel According to John Chapter 14:6

1 Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the
Name of the Lord.
2 Blessed be the Name of the Lord from henceforth
and forever.
3 The Lord’s Name is praised from the rising of
the sun, unto the going down of the same.
4 The Lord is high above all nations, and his
glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like unto the Lord our God, that hath
his dwelling on high.
6 Who abaseth himself to behold things in the
heavens and in the earth!
7 He raiseth the needy out of the dust, and lifteth
up the poor out of the dung,
8 That he may set him with the princes, even
with the princes of his people.
9 He maketh the barren woman to dwell with
a family, and a joyful mother of children. Praise ye
the Lord.

The Only Way to Be Right With God
by Ray  Pritchard
Part Three as Edited by RPW Sr.

21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
The Epistle to the Romans Chapter 3:21-26 (KJV)

Provided by the death of Christ

We come to the heart of the gospel. Verses 24-25 explain exactly how the death of Christ saves sinners. In order to make himself clear, Paul uses three very picturesque words: “Justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement through faith in his blood.” Each word presents another facet of Christ’s saving work on the cross.
1. Justify. This word comes from the courtrooms of ancient Greece. To “justify” means to “declare not guilty.” More than that, it means to wipe away the record of sin and to declare a sinner righteous in God’s eyes. It’s what happens when God alters our “permanent record” in heaven. When a sinner trusts Christ, God declares him righteous, and that declaration never changes!

2. Redeem. This word comes from the slave market. To redeem means to “set free by the payment of a price.” When we were slaves to sin, God paid the price and set us free from our slavery. The price was the blood of his Son. When a sinner trusts Christ, God releases him from the chains of sin and sets him free forever!

3. Propitiate. This is the literal meaning of the phrase translated “sacrifice of atonement.” It comes from the sacrificial system of the Old Testament. The word means “to turn away wrath by the offering of a gift.” In the Old Testament, the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies on the Day of Atonement and sprinkle blood on the top of the Ark of the Covenant. By the sprinkling of the blood, the sins of the people were “covered” or “atoned.” The wrath of God against sin was thus turned away. Why is this important? Because God’s justice demands death as the ultimate punishment for sin. To call the death of Christ a “propitiation” means that God’s wounded heart is now satisfied with the death of his Son. When a sinner trusts Christ, God accepts him on the basis of the bloody sacrifice Christ made when he died on the cross!

A demonstration of God’s justice

Now we come to the final fact about the righteousness we need. God’s method of salvation demonstrates his justice. “He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.” This passage reveals that God’s salvation plan began long before Jesus came to the world. The paradox of salvation is this: God is a God of love … and therefore wants to forgive sinners. But he is also a God of holiness … who must not, indeed cannot, overlook sin. How could God love sinners and yet not overlook their sin? How could God be true to himself by forgiving sinners but not overlooking the sin they committed?

No one would ever have dreamed of his answer! God sent his own Son to die for sinners. In that way, the just punishment for sin was fully met in the death of Christ and sinners who trust in Christ could be freely forgiven. No man would ever have dreamed of such a radical solution. Only God could have done something like that! Thus, Paul says, God is both just (in punishing sin) and the justifier of those who believe in Jesus. But note the power of Jesus’ death. Even the sins of those who lived before Christ are forgiven by his death. When Jesus died, he reached all the way back to Adam and took care of those sins! Not only that, but Jesus also took care of the sins of those who would live long after him.

Think of it. In the death of this One Man, all the sins of the human race are fully paid for—past, present and future. As a result, those who believe in Jesus find that their sins are gone forever! This acquittal is absolutely free because it is based on the unmerited favor (grace) of God. God decided to set man free, arranged a plan by which He could justify the guilty and still remain a moral being, and then carried it out. It’s a free offer. The only option we have is to accept it or reject it. This is so hard for us to believe. We would prefer to work for our salvation. But God’s gift of salvation costs us nothing, even though it cost his Son everything. The Lord now says to us, “Take it by faith! It’s yours for free. I have paid the cost for you.”

What matters is that you accept God’s free offer of salvation. “The only option we have is to accept it or reject it.” So we bring this message to an end with a simple question: What will you do with God’s free offer of salvation; yes or no?

My Daily Meditation
Spread the Gospel

We have been given a job by Christ, and that is to teach the Gospel to all people. That the Word should go forth, and be preached in every corner of the globe. Our only weapon being that Word. That it would speak words of truth, light and life to all who hear it.  Thus the nations would come to repentance, amend their ways, and seek God as their guide in all their ways.  And so I come to you friends, and give you these words today.

4 But Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread only, but by every word of God.
The Gospel According to Luke Chapter 4:4

3 Therefore he humbled thee, and made thee hungry, and fed thee with Manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know it, that he might teach thee that man lived not by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord, doth a man live.
The Book of Deuteronomy Chapter 8:3

7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth two and two, and gave them power over unclean spirits,
8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only: neither scrip, neither bread, neither money in their girdles:
9 But that they should be shod with sandals, and that they should not put on two coats,
10 And he said unto them, Wheresoever ye shall enter into an house, there abide till ye depart thence.
11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust that is under your feet, for a witness unto them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be easier for Sodom, or Gomorrah at the day of Judgment, than for that city.
12  And they went out, and preached, that men should amend their lives.
The Gospel According to Mark Chapter 6:7-12

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.
16 He that shall believe and be baptized, shall be saved: but he that will not believe, shall be damned.
The Gospel According to Mark Chapter 16:15-16

17  For CHRIST sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For that preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness: but unto us, which are saved, it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will cast away the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the Scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made the wisdom of this world foolishness?
21 For seeing the world by wisdom knew not God in the wisdom of GOD, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe:
22 Seeing also that the Jews require a sign, and the Grecians seek after wisdom.
23 But we preach Christ crucified: unto the Jews, even a stumbling block, and unto the Grecians, foolishness:
24 But unto them which are called, both of the Jews and Grecians, we preach Christ, the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For brethren, you see your calling, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called.
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world, to confound the mighty things,
28 And vile things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, and things which [s]are not, to bring to nought things that are.
29 That no flesh should rejoice in his presence.
30 But ye are of him in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.
31 That, according as it is written, He that rejoiceth, let him rejoice in the Lord.
The First Epistle to the Corinthians Chapter 1:17-31

16 And to preach the Gospel in those regions which are beyond you: not to rejoice in another man’s line: that is, in the things that are prepared already.
The Second Epistle to the Corinthians Chapter 10:16

14 But how shall they call on him, in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him, of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them which bring glad tidings of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the Gospel: for Isaiah saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 Then faith is by hearing, and hearing by the word of God
The Epistle to the Romans Chapter 10:14-17

Read One Psalm a Day
Psalm One Hundred Twelve

1 Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, and
delighteth greatly in his commandments.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the
generation of the righteous shall be blessed.
3 Riches and treasures shall be in his house, and
his righteousness endureth forever.
4 Unto the righteous ariseth light in darkness:
he is merciful and full of compassion and
righteous.
5 A good man is merciful, and lendeth, and will
measure his affairs by judgment.
6 Surely he shall never be moved: but the righteous
shall be had in everlasting remembrance.
7 He will not be afraid of evil tidings: for his
heart is fixed, and believeth in the Lord.
8 His heart is established: therefore he will not
fear, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
9 He hath distributed and given to the poor: his
righteousness remaineth forever: his horn shall be
exalted with glory.
10 The wicked shall see it, and be angry: he shall
gnash with his teeth, and consume away: the desire
of the wicked shall perish.

My Daily Meditation
In Whom Do You Trust?

The word trust, (according to the KJV translation), appears in the Bible, approximately 130 times. In most cases it is used in relation to putting one’s trust in God.  So today, who do you trust to deliver you from the judgment to come? If you trust in good works, it won’t work. If you trust in man, man will fail you. If you trust in following the golden rule, that is your own morality, it too will fail. The only way to be assured of your place in God’s Kingdom is to accept Christ as Savior.  Place your trust in Him to confess you to the Father. He is a faithful witness and will give testimony on your behalf before the judgment throne.

God is my strength, in him will I trust: my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower and my refuge: my Savior, thou hast saved me from violence.
The Second Book of Samuel Chapter 22:3

10 And they that know thy Name, will trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not failed them that seek thee.
The Book of Psalms Chapter 9:10

22 The Lord [a]redeemeth the souls of his servants: and none that trust in him, shall perish
The Book of Psalms Chapter 34:22

9 Yea, we received the sentence of death in ourselves, because we should not rest in ourselves, but in God, which raised the dead.
10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver us: in whom we trust, that yet hereafter he will deliver us.
The Second Epistle to the Corinthians Chapter 1:9-10

10 For it became him, for whom are all these things, and by whom are all these things, seeing that he brought many children unto glory, that he should consecrate the Prince of their salvation through afflictions.
11 For he that sanctifieth, and they which are sanctified, are all of one: wherefore he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12 Saying, I will declare thy Name unto my brethren: in the midst of the Church will I sing praises to thee.
13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold, here am I, and the children which God hath given me.
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part with them, that he might destroy through death, him that had the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 And that he might deliver all them, which for fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For he in no sort took on him the Angels’ nature, but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17 Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be merciful, and a faithful high Priest in things concerning God, that he might make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that he suffered, and was tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.
The Epistle to the Hebrews Chapter 2:10-18

Read One Psalm a Day
Psalm One Hundred Eleven

1 I will praise the Lord with my whole heart in
the assembly and the congregation of the just.
2 The works of the Lord are great, and ought to
be sought out of all them that love them.
3 His work is beautiful and glorious, and his
righteousness endureth forever.
4 He hath made his wonderful works to be had
in remembrance: the Lord is merciful and full of
compassion.
5 He hath given a portion unto them that fear
him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
6 He hath showed to his people the power of
his works, in giving unto them the heritage of the
heathen.
7 The works of his hands are truth and judgment:
all his statutes are true.
8 They are established forever and ever, and are
done in truth and equity.
9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath
commanded his covenant forever: holy and fearful
is his Name.
10 The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the
Lord: all they that observe them, have good understanding:
his praise endureth forever.

My Daily Meditation
You Live Because He Lives

When Jesus died on the cross it was not the end of the story, no indeed my brethren, it was instead the beginning of a whole new covenant with all the people of this earth forever.  The only thing that ended was the curse of sin and it’s wages, death.  We can now look forward to the promise of our Creator that we will see Him in His glory, and be as He intended us to be, this is to say a perfect reflection of His righteousness.  However, there is one condition that must be met, and this is to confess Jesus as our Redeemer. Without this confession all we do, no matter how good, how well intentioned, how nice, how wonderful, how generous, how compassionate, will not be enough to stand in the presence of our Father come judgment.  When we accept this redemption, that is freely given unto us, we now have someone who will speak for us on our behalf. One who will say to our Creator; this is a worthy servant and their name is the book of life.

9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof, because thou wast killed, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.
The Revelation of Saint John the Apostle Chapter 5:9

25 For I am sure that my Redeemer liveth, and he shall stand the last on the earth.
The Book of Job Chapter 19:25

22 Look unto me, and ye shall be saved: all the ends of the earth shall be saved: for I am God, and there is none other.
23 I have sworn by myself: the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That every knee shall bow unto me, and every tongue shall swear by me.
24 Surely he shall say, In the Lord have I righteousness and strength: he shall come unto him, and all that provoke him shall be ashamed.
The Book of Isaiah Chapter 45:22-24

1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not: and if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Just.
2 And he is the reconciliation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
The First Epistle of John Chapter 2:1-2

Read One Psalm a Day
Psalm One Hundred Ten

1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right
hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy power out of
Zion: be thou ruler in the midst of thine enemies.
3 Thy people shall come willingly at the time of
assembling thine army in holy beauty: the youth of
thy womb shall be as the morning dew.
4 The Lord sware, and will not repent, Thou art
a Priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.
5 The Lord that is at thy right hand, shall wound
kings in the day of his wrath.
6 He shall be judge among the heathen: he shall
fill all with dead bodies, and smite the head over
great countries.
7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore
shall he lift up his head.

My Daily Meditations
Are You Ready?

Brethren, the Lord will come to us on the clouds of glory, but he will also come unannounced and catch many unaware, and unprepared.  Be watchful, and be certain that you’ll be able to stand in confidence in the time of judgment as there is no hiding place from the kingdom’s throne.  Take the grace that is freely given unto you by confessing Christ as Savior.  Again it is stressed that God will meet you where you are now, no matter what point or what stage in life you are standing.  He does not play favorites. The rich and the poor, the proud and the humble, all must stand before Him. He is not a respecter of persons.

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in dens, and among the rocks of the mountains,
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the presence of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.
17 For the great day of his wrath is come, and who can stand?
The Revelation of Saint John the Apostle Chapter 6:15-17

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive, that God is no respecter of persons.
The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 10:34

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
The Epistle to the Hebrews Chapter 10:31

Read One Psalm a Day
Psalm One Hundred Nine

1 Hold not thy tongue, O God of my praise.
2 For the mouth of the wicked, and the mouth
full of deceit are opened upon me: they have spoken
to me with a lying tongue.
3 They compassed me about also with words of
hatred, and fought against me without a cause.
4 For my friendship they were my adversaries,
but I gave myself to prayer.
5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and
hatred for my friendship.
6 Set thou the wicked over him, and let the
adversary stand at his right hand.
7 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned,
and let his prayer be turned into sin.
8 Let his days be few, and let another take his
charge.
9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a
widow.
10 Let his children be vagabonds, and beg and
seek bread, coming out of their places destroyed.
11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath, and
let the strangers spoil his labor.
12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him:
neither let there be any to show mercy upon his
fatherless children.
13 Let his posterity be destroyed, and in the
generation following, let their name be put out.
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be had in
remembrance with the Lord: and let not the sin of
his mother be done away.
15 But let them always be before the Lord, that
he may cut off their memorial from the earth.
16 Because he remembered not to show mercy,
but persecuted the afflicted and poor man, and the
sorrowful hearted to slay him.
17 As he loved cursing, so shall it come unto
him, and as he loved not blessing, so shall it be far
from him.
18 As he clothed himself with cursing like a raiment,
so shall it come into his bowels like water, and
like oil into his bones.
19 Let it be unto him as a garment to cover him, and
for a girdle, wherewith he shall be always girded.
20 Let this be the reward of mine adversary from the
Lord, and of them that speak evil against my soul.
21 But thou, O Lord my God, deal with me according
unto thy Name: deliver me, (for thy mercy
is good)
22 Because I am poor and needy, and mine heart
is wounded within me.
23 I depart like the shadow that declineth, and
am shaken off as the grasshopper.
24 My knees are weak through fasting, and my
flesh hath lost all fatness.
25 I became also a rebuke unto them: they that
looked upon me, shaked their heads.
26 Help me, O Lord my God: save me according
to thy mercy.
27 And they shall know that this is thine hand,
and that thou, Lord, hast done it.
28 Though they curse, yet thou wilt bless: they
shall arise and be confounded, but thy servant shall
rejoice.
29 Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame,
and let them cover themselves with their confusion
as with a cloak.
30 I will give thanks unto the Lord greatly with
my mouth, and praise him among the multitude.
31 For he will stand at the right hand of the poor,
to save him from them that would condemn his
soul.

My Daily Meditations

Do not despise His chastising, nor chafe under His yoke for His burden is light and easy. It is meant to be correction. Come and partake of His gift of Salvation, it is free to all that confess Christ as their savior. It matters not who, or what you are now, or have been in the past. The blood of the risen savior will wash you clean of all iniquity, all sin.  You think you’re a good person, you follow the golden rule, but even your best efforts are naught but filthy rags. Like the wealthy young man that sought to follow Christ, but could not bear to part with his earthly treasures, you’ll turn away.  Repent my friends, accept Christ, who knew no sin, to bear your sins, and nail and leave them on the cross at Calvary. Confess Him as Savior, and He will confess you before God.

The Coming Glory of God’s Kingdom

1 The desert and the wilderness shall rejoice,
and the waste ground shall be glad and flourish as
the rose.
2 It shall flourish abundantly, and shall greatly
rejoice also and joy: the glory of Lebanon shall be
given unto it: the beauty of Carmel, and of Sharon,
they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency
of our God.
3 Strengthen the weak hands, and comfort the
feeble knees.
4 Say unto them that are fearful, Be you strong,
fear not: behold, your God cometh with vengeance:
even God with a recompense, he will come and save
you.
5 Then shall the eyes of the blind be lightened,
and the ears of the deaf be opened.
6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the
dumb man’s tongue shall sing: for in the wilderness
shall waters break out, and rivers in the desert.
7 And the dry ground shall be as a pool, and
the thirsty as springs of water: in the habitation of
dragons, where they lay, shall be a place for reeds and
rushes.
8 And there shall be a path and a way, and the
way shall be called holy: the polluted shall not pass
by it: for he shall be with them, and walk in the way,
and the fools shall not err.
9 There shall be no lion, nor noisome beasts
shall ascend by it, neither shall they be found there,
that the redeemed may walk.
10 Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall
return and come to Zion with praise: and everlasting
joy shall be upon their heads: they shall obtain joy
and gladness, and sorrow and mourning shall flee
away
The Book of Isaiah Chapter 35:1-10

11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, and honor, and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy will’s sake they are, and have been created.

Psalm One Hundred Eight

1 O God, mine heart is prepared, so is my
tongue: I will sing and give praise.
2 Awake viol and harp, I will awake early.
3 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people,
and I will sing unto thee among the nations.
4 For thy mercy is great above the heavens, and
thy truth unto the clouds.
5 Exalt thyself, O God, above the heavens, and
let thy glory be upon all the earth,
6 That thy beloved may be delivered: help with
thy right hand and hear me.
7 God hath spoken in his holiness: therefore I
will rejoice, I shall divide Shechem and measure the
valley of Succoth.
8 Gilead shall be mine, and Manasseh shall be
mine: Ephraim also shall be the strength of mine
head: Judah is my lawgiver.
9 Moab shall be my washpot: over Edom will I
cast out my shoe: upon Palestine will I triumph.
10 Who will lead me into the strong city? who
will bring me unto Edom?
11 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst forsaken us,
and didst not go forth, O God, with our armies?
12 Give us help against trouble: for vain is the
help of man.
13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he shall
tread down our enemies.

My Daily Meditations
Be Ready, Be Prepared

2 Be awake, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy work perfect before God.
5 He that overcometh, shall be clothed in white array, and I will not put out his Name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his Angels. (a)
8  know thy works: behold I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my Name.
11 Behold, I come shortly: hold that which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
12 Him that overcometh, will I make a pillar in the Temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the Name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and I will write upon him my new Name. (b)
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried by the fire, that thou mayest be made rich: and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that thy filthy nakedness do not appear: and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and amend.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock, If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in unto him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh, will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I overcame, and sit with my Father in his throne.

Psalm One Hundred Seven

A Psalm of Praise and Thanksgiving to God for His Loving Kindness and Mercy

1 Praise the Lord, because he is good: for his
mercy endureth forever.
2 Let them, which have been redeemed of the
Lord, show how he hath delivered them from the
hand of the oppressor,
3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the
East and from the West, from the North and from
the South.
4 When they wandered in the desert and wilderness
out of the way, and found no city to dwell in,
5 Both hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in
them.
6 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress,
7 And led them forth by the right way, that they
might go to a city of habitation.
8 Let them therefore confess before the Lord his
loving kindness, and his wonderful works before the
sons of men. (c)
9 For he satisfied the thirsty soul, and filled the
hungry soul with goodness.
10 They that dwell in darkness and in the shadow
of death, being bound in misery and iron,
11 Because they rebelled against the words of the
Lord, and despised the counsel of the most High,
12 When he humbled their heart with heaviness,
then they fell down, and there was no helper.
13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress. (d)
14 He brought them out of darkness, and out of the
shadow of death, and brake their bands asunder.
15 Let them therefore confess before the Lord his
loving-kindness, and his wonderful works before
the sons of men.
16 For he hath broken the gates of brass, and
burst the bars of iron asunder,
17 Fools by reason of their transgression, and
because of their iniquities are afflicted.
18 Their soul abhorreth all meat, and they are
brought to death’s door.(e)
19 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivereth them from their distress.
20 He sendeth his word and healeth them, and
delivereth them from their graves.
21 Let them therefore confess before the Lord his
loving kindness, and his wonderful works before the
sons of men,
22 And let them offer sacrifices of praise, and
declare his works with rejoicing. (f)
23 They that go down to the sea in ships, and
occupy by the great waters,
24 They see the works of the Lord, and his wonders
in the deep.
25 For he commandeth and raiseth the stormy
wind, and it lifteth up the waves thereof.
26 They mount up to the heaven, and descend to
the deep, so that their soul melteth for trouble.
27 They are tossed to and fro, and stagger like a
drunken man, and all their cunning is gone. (g)
28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble,
and he bringeth them out of their distress.
29 He turneth the storm to calm, so that the waves
thereof are still.
30 When they are quieted, they are glad, and he
bringeth them unto the haven, where they would be.
31 Let them therefore confess before the Lord his
loving kindness, and his wonderful works before the
sons of men.
32 And let them exalt him in the congregation of the
people, and praise him in the assembly of the Elders.
33 He turneth the floods to a wilderness, and the
springs of waters into dryness,
34 And a fruitful land into barrenness, for the
wickedness of them that dwell therein.
35 Again he turneth the wilderness into pools of
water, and the dry land into water springs.
36 And there he placeth the hungry, and they build
a city to dwell in,
37 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which
bring forth fruitful increase.
38 For he blesseth them, and they multiply exceedingly,
and he diminisheth not their cattle.
39 Again men are diminished, and brought low
by oppression, evil and sorrow.
40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth
them to err in desert places out of the way.
41 Yet he raiseth up the poor out of misery, and
maketh him families like a flock of sheep.
42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice, and all
iniquity shall stop her mouth.
43 Who is wise that he may observe these things?
for they shall understand the loving kindness of the
Lord. (h)

(e) Editor’s thought - This is to say that they refuse to (metaphorically) eat or accept the Word of God that is food for the soul, and necessary for salvation.  As a result they are accumulating the wages of sin, that being death, and stand in it’s shadow.
